SYNOPSIS

Told exclusively through the first-person reflections of former at-risk youth and current officers, this short documentary offers a briskly-paced look at the Los Angeles County probation department, a little-understood part of the larger justice system. We explore how the department helps youth caught in the criminal courts system navigate that system, and in particular shines a light on the critical role that caring officers play in that process.
